The city of Coruña never fails to surprise with its blend of landscapes. Its seafront promenade is one of those places that invites you to pause, enjoy the sound of the sea, and discover the small gems that are part of its essence. Among them, “La Caracola” has always been one of my favorites, not just for its unique shape, but also for the symbolism it holds. This sculpture seems to connect with the past, evoking the echoes of the sirens that once signaled the arrival of ships in distant times.
For a long time, I wanted to capture it with my camera, but I never found the right moment. For me, a photograph isn’t just a record, it’s a way to do justice to what a place conveys. I’ve finally added this image to my collection, and I feel that black and white brings out the sculpture’s strength even more, framed by the cloud-filled sky and the Atlantic in the background.
“La Caracola” is much more than a sculpture; it’s a piece that invites you to imagine, to quietly listen to the sounds of the sea and of history. As always, Coruña proves to be a place where art and nature come together, creating unique corners that never stop inspiring.
